THE DRAWING OF THE ALCO RSD-5 BY WIL ANDERSON IS A SUPERB RENDERING. WIL'S SITE IS ONE OF THE BEST REFERENCE SOURCES AVAIALBLE.
USING WIL'S GENERAL ARRANGEMENT AS A REFERENCE, AND THE SPECIFIC DIMENSIONS AS SOURCED FROM A MULTITUDE OF AVAILABLE INFORMATION FROM ALCO'S COMPANY FILES, AND DIMENSIONAL REFERENCES FROM THE DIESEL SHOP (OUTSTANDING SOURCE), THE MODEL IS IN ITS FINAL 3D DESIGN ITERATION, AND MAY BE SEEN IN ITS PRESENT PRINTING (SLA WAX) BELOW. ITS FIRST CASTING WILL BE IN THE FIRST WEEK IN MAY, ITS PHOTO WILL BE LOADED TO THIS SITE AT THAT TIME.
This ALCO RSD-5 wax 3D print shows the items that need to be adjusted before the last test and first casting. Centainlly the void to test the wall thickness printing must be "filled" with additional access frames. Additionally, all of the 90 degree ridges must be kurfed to allow for flow.
