SEARAILS PRODUCES UNIQUE AND NOVEL PRECISE SCALE MODELS OF PROTOTYPES NOT CURRENTLY OFFERED BY OTHER MANUFACTURES. SEARAILS DESIGNS, PRODUCES AND PROMOTES A VARIETY OF POWERED MODELS FOR TRAINS, MARINE, AND OTHER ANIMATIONS.
SEARAILS PowerMAX! Prime Mover development began in 2005. The goal was to produce a small and powerful direct drive motor to power individual wheel sets for model railroad locomotives, as in the prototype. The effort began with locomotive body shells produced using both rapid prototype and lost wax metal casting.
In 2009, adapting designs of other vendors to drive our cast body shells did not meet our performance and cost/benefit criteria. We needed to produce our own design and specifications for the power unit's qualities of performance and maintenance.
SEARAILS introduced the GE25T Industrial Switcher in early 2010 using two different power units. The PowerMAX! was successful in comparisons between the two for performance, reliability, maintenance, and cost. The GE25T sold out its first production volume in half the expected time during 2011.
Tom Knapp continued to improve the design and feature specifications of the PowerMAX!, and SEARAILS acquired its planned unit volume for 2012/2013. Even with the introduction of two-unit locomotives in the latter part of 2012, it is anticipated that we will maintain a PowerMAX! inventory capable of supporting a consistent order flow for "scratch" builders who desire a small but powerful Prime Mover.
CURRENT PROJECTS INCLUDE ARCHITECTURAL, MARINE, RAIL, TOPOGRAPHIC, AND PROTOTYPE PRODUCT DESIGN.
OUR MODELS HAVE BEEN SPECIFIED FOR ENGINEERING STUDY, PROMOTIONAL DISPLAY, COURTROOM EXHIBITS, AND MARKETING PREMIUMS.
